Three brothers: Gerard, Robert and Herman Vande Vyvere establish Matexi, the “Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van Immobilien”. They buy acres of farming land and resell it divided into smaller plots to farmers, who thus can buy land for their own farms.
Enter the third generation, led by Gerard’s son, Christian Vande Vyvere. In 1965, Matexi is joined by Bernard, Robert’s son, and in 1973 - by Phillipe, Herman’s son. They worked actively for the company until 2002, 1990 and 2006 respectively.
Enter fourth generation. Gaetan Hannecart, husband of Benedicte Vande Vyvere, Christian’s daughter, joins the family firm in 1994, followed by Bruno Vande Vyvere, Christian’s son, in 1996.
A start of our presence in the Polish market. Matexi Polska is founded. Mirosław Bednarek and Sief Franzen are starting to build a Polish team.
